Get to Know Faith

I learned business long before I called myself a business strategist.

My perspective on business did not come from a classroom. It came from serving customers, keeping records and learning what it takes for a business to keep its promises, long before I had a title for any of it.

My Beginning

At 10 years old, I was already helping in our family bookshop in Maralal.

I learned how to serve customers, write receipts, take inventory, price products, order books from suppliers, receive cheques and take money to the bank.

I learned something very early:

“Yesterday’s sales must be deposited in the bank today.”

Those may sound like simple business lessons, but they shaped the way I see business.

A business is not just about making sales. It is about understanding how everything works together.

My Experience

Over the years, I went on to work in the corporate world, leave employment, start a college, close it, and build businesses of my own.

I have built and run Petrimore Schools Rumuruti and been involved in Mbukiwa Academy, while also managing other ventures and projects.

I have also worked with more than 200 women through AWEC as a Community Champion, supporting women as they think about and grow their businesses.

What This Taught Me

Through these experiences, I have seen what happens when a business grows faster than the systems supporting it.

  • The owner becomes the person everyone depends on.
  • Decisions stay with one person.
  • Follow up is missed.
  • Information is scattered.
  • Processes live in people's heads.

And the owner becomes busy running the business instead of building it.

What I Do Today

I help owner run businesses in years 2 to 5 find the real constraint on their growth, then build the systems that lift it.

I don’t come into a business with a ready made answer.

You bring the business.

I bring the questions.

Together, we look at what is happening, understand what is holding the business back and determine what needs to be built next.

“The problem you can see isn’t always the problem you need to solve.”
